Yomiuri Shimbun ・ 読売新聞

The Yomiuri Shimbun is one of Japan's best selling newspapers.

It also has substantial news and magazine-style web-sites in Japanese and in English

Japanese newspapers have a reputation of being difficult to read, but The Yomiuri has a young adult's page where there are news article written in "simple" Japanese. In these articles the Kanji have furigana, which makes them a lot easier to read.

Congratulations Hanyū Yuzuru (羽生 結弦)

The Yomiuri photo archive is amazing too. Some of the photos date back to the 1960s!
